Doggie First Aid Kit

I keep a first aid kit in my car. If we go hiking then I put it in one of the dogs backpacks if we are going to be gone for a few hours. It is actually 99% put together with the dogs in mind. The only thing I actually put in for myself is band-aids! Though, I can use everything in it for myself.

I’m just telling you what I have in my kit. I won’t be giving dosing advice. You should contact your vet before using anything.

What's in my kit?

  •  Gauze
  • Tweezers
  • Medical Scissors
  • Vet Wrap
  • Triple Layer Non-Stick Pads
  • Pads (Feminine products, amazingly absorbent)
  • Syringe
  • Tourniquet
  •  Small Water Bottle
  • Dog Booties
  • Slip Leash
  • Fabric Muzzle
  • Sharpie ( To write the time the tourniquet is applied)
  • Celox (Clots blood)
  • Peroxide
  • Saline Solution
  • Neosporin
  • Benadryl (Pill and creme)
  • Triple Antibiotic Ointment
  • Vaseline
  • Medicated Ear Cleaning Solution (From the Vet)
  •  Dramamine (Motion Sickness, Tablets)
  • Arnica Montana (Pellets)
  • Activated Charcoal
  • GasX (Extra Strength)

Most of these things will hopefully never be used, but I like to be prepared for the worst. I will be adding a emergency harness so I can carry my largest dog more comfortably. Just in case. Better safe than sorry!

Stay safe and have fun with your dog!
